When should I use a line flush?

At every drain-and-refill (every 3 to 4 months for traditional chlorine/bromine hot tubs; and every 12 months for Salt-Water systems). Line flush dislodges biofilm and gunk hiding in your plumbing — the stuff that makes "clean" water look cloudy hours after a refill.

What causes hot tub foam and does foam down fix it?

Foam comes from surfactants — soap residue, body wash, lotions, detergents on swimsuits. Foam down knocks it out for the soak, but the long-term fix is shocking the tub and rinsing swimsuits in plain water before use.

Do I need a descaler if my water is balanced?

Eventually, yes — even balanced water deposits some calcium on heater elements over time, especially on harder Ontario well water. An annual descale extends heater life noticeably.

Will specialty chemicals interfere with Spa Boy or salt systems?

No. These products are formulated to be sanitizer-neutral. Continue running your salt cell as normal during and after treatment.
