Collection: Water Clarifiers

Water clarifier is a polymer-based chemical that clumps together the tiny particles your filter can't catch on its own — body oils, lotions, dead algae, mineral haze — so they get trapped on the next filtration cycle. If your hot tub water looks dull, cloudy, or slightly milky despite balanced chemistry, clarifier is usually the fastest fix. One capful, jets on high for 15 minutes, and most tubs clear overnight.

Works in every Arctic Spas model — Klondiker, Yukon, Frontier, Tundra, Cub — and is safe with chlorine, bromine, and Spa Boy salt systems. Stock up online with free Ontario shipping over $169, or pick up the same day in Kitchener, London, or Windsor.

Frequently asked questions

What causes cloudy hot tub water?

Usually one of four things: high body-oil load (lotions, sweat, hair product), worn or dirty filter, unbalanced pH or alkalinity, or low sanitizer. Clarifier handles the particulate side; check chemistry and clean the filter to handle the rest.

How long does it take clarifier to work?

Most clarifiers visibly clear water within 4 to 24 hours. If it's still cloudy after a day, the issue isn't particles — recheck pH, alkalinity, and sanitizer.

Can I use too much clarifier?

Yes — overdosing actually makes water cloudier because the polymer clumps with itself. Stick to label dosage.

Clarifier vs. flocculant — what's the difference?

Clarifier clumps particles small enough for the filter to catch. Flocculant clumps them heavy enough to sink to the floor, which you then vacuum up. For most home hot tubs, clarifier is what you want.
