Arctic Pure Foam Dissolve is an instant defoamer for hot tubs and spas. It collapses surface foam within seconds of being added — useful when foam is ruining a soak you want to take right now and you don't have time to track down the underlying cause.
Why hot tubs foam in the first place: Foam is almost always a symptom, not a problem on its own. The usual culprits are body lotions, hair products, laundry detergent residue on swimsuits, soap residue from rinsing the spa, low calcium hardness, or a buildup of dissolved organics from heavy use. Foam Dissolve breaks the surface tension of the bubbles so they collapse, but it doesn't remove what's causing them — that part is still on you.
When to use it: Add Foam Dissolve when your spa surface is covered in foam and you want to use the spa immediately. It's a fast fix, not a maintenance product. If you find yourself reaching for it more than once a week, the underlying cause needs attention — usually a filter clean, a shock dose with Arctic Pure Refresh, or a check on calcium hardness with a product like Cal-Rise.
How to use it: With the jets running, squeeze a small amount (start with about a teaspoon for a typical 6-person spa) directly over the foamy areas of the water surface. The foam should collapse within 30 seconds. Add a little more if needed. You can soak immediately after.
Quick tips:
- Use sparingly — overdosing leaves a residue that can clog your filter and actually causes more foam down the road
- Rinse swimsuits in plain water (no detergent) before getting in; laundry residue is the #1 hidden cause of recurring foam
- If foam keeps coming back within hours of dosing, drain and refill — the water is saturated with organics and no defoamer will fix that
