Arctic Pure Adjust Down lowers the pH of your hot tub water, and brings total alkalinity down with it. If your test strip reads above 7.6, this is the fix.
Why high pH is a problem: above 7.6, calcium starts coming out of solution — as scale on the acrylic, inside the heater, and on salt-system electrodes. High pH also weakens your sanitizer and is the most common cause of cloudy, dull water. The ideal range is 7.2–7.6.
How to use it: with a pump running, add one capful — that lowers the test strip about one colour. The 3 kg container's larger cap holds roughly three small capfuls, so dose accordingly. Let the water circulate, wait at least 30 minutes before using the spa, and retest before the next adjustment.
Quick tips:
- Adjust total alkalinity first — getting it into the 80–120 ppm range often settles pH on its own
- Several small doses beat one big one; overshooting means buying Adjust Up to undo it
