The 30A Fuse is a 30-amp fuse for Gecko-built spa motherboards. It protects a main pump circuit — the high-current power feed to one of your spa's primary jet pumps.
What it means when this fuse blows: The protected pump stops running entirely. You'll notice the jets on that pump's circuit are dead while the heater, controller, lights, and other pump (if present) continue to work normally. Pump fuses typically blow because the pump motor windings shorted as the motor ages past 5-7 years of daily use, because moisture got into the pump junction box and shorted to ground, or because a stuck/seized impeller pulled excessive current trying to start.
How to replace it: Always turn off the spa's breaker at the house panel first — a 30A pump fuse means real current is involved and the breaker comes first. Open the equipment access panel, locate the Gecko motherboard, find the marked pump fuse holder (often labelled "PUMP1" or "PUMP2"), pull the old fuse, confirm it blew, and snap in a fresh 30A. Restore power.
When to call for service: If the replacement fuse blows immediately or within minutes, the pump itself is shorted or seized and needs to be replaced — not just the fuse. Continuing to feed fuses into a bad pump can cook the motherboard's pump relay. If your spa uses a Global motherboard instead of Gecko, you need the 25A Fuse instead.
