Pleated Filter 50' (Drop-In without Handle)

The Pleated Filter 50' (Drop-In) is a 50 sq ft cleanable cartridge filter for Arctic Spas built before 2009 — and most pre-2009 Coyote spas. It drops into the "floating weir" filter well (the round opening with no logo on top) and gives you a reusable, washable alternative to disposable filters.

Why choose pleated over disposable: A pleated filter is rinsed clean and re-installed instead of being recycled every three months. If you're on well water — which often carries iron, manganese, or higher dissolved solids than municipal water — a pleated filter pays back faster because you can deep-clean it as often as needed without buying a new cartridge. It's also the better choice if you simply prefer cleaning a filter to replacing one.

Will this fit my spa? Yes, if your Arctic or Coyote spa was built in 2008 or earlier and uses a floating-weir style filter intake (the filter sits in a round well with no Arctic Spas logo on the cap). If your spa is 2009 or newer with a threaded ArcticSpas-logo filter intake, you need the Pleated Filter 50' Thread-In or the Silver Sentinel Thread-In instead. Not sure which intake you have? How to clean it: Rinse the pleats top to bottom with a garden hose every 2-4 weeks. Once a quarter, soak the filter overnight in a filter-cleaning solution like Aqua Finesse Filter Cleaner, then rinse thoroughly. A well-maintained pleated filter typically lasts 12-18 months before the pleats break down and you need a fresh cartridge.

Quick tips:

• Keep a spare on hand and rotate — soak one while the other runs
• Never use a pressure washer; it shreds the pleats
• If your filter is collapsing or the pleats have gone permanently grey, it's time to replace it
