On/Off Internal

The On/Off Internal is the rotating internal mechanism inside an On/Off air valve on Arctic Spas. The On/Off valve is the smaller of the rim valves — it turns the airflow to a jet group fully on or fully off (as opposed to the air control, which adjusts how much). The Internal is the part that physically opens and closes the air pathway when you turn the cap above it.

When you'll need to replace the internal: Most common reason — the action has gone stiff or sticky and a fresh O-ring plus silicone lubrication didn't restore smooth turning. The internal seal eventually swells or hardens with chlorine exposure and stops rotating freely. Other failure modes: stripped splines on the connection to the cap (from over-tightening), or a cracked internal body from freeze damage if water sat in the valve over a winter shutdown.

Will this fit my spa? Yes, on Arctic Spas with the standard On/Off air valve assembly. The matching cap is the On/Off Cap or the upgraded On/Off 2-Tone Bearclaw Handle. Bring the old internal to one of our three Ontario showrooms for matching if you're unsure.

How to install: No need to drain the spa unless the cap is below the waterline. Unscrew the cap, slide the old internal out, install the new one with a fresh On/Off Internal O-ring, lightly lubricate with plumbing-safe silicone, and re-thread the cap finger-tight.
