The Silver Sentinel Disposable Filter (Drop-In Without Handle, Small) is the compact-format version of our standard Silver Sentinel Drop-In. It drops into the smaller-format floating-weir filter well found on some pre-2009 Arctic and Coyote spas.

How a disposable filter works: Silver Sentinel filters are made from hundreds of microscopic layers of porous polypropylene (the same material as plastic drink bottles). Each pass of water through the layers catches progressively smaller particles, so you filter out far more debris in less time than a pleated cartridge can. When the filter is full — typically after about three months of normal use — you toss it in the recycling bin and drop in a new one. No cleaning, no soaking, no buying filter cleaner.

Will this fit my spa? Yes, if your Arctic or Coyote spa was built in 2008 or earlier and uses the smaller floating-weir style filter intake (the filter sits in a round well with no logo on the cap). If you have the standard-size drop-in well, you need the regular Silver Sentinel Drop-In. If your spa is 2009 or newer with a threaded ArcticSpas-logo intake, you need a Silver Sentinel Thread-In. Not sure which one fits? Bring your old filter to any of our three Ontario showrooms.

How long it lasts: Most spa owners get about three months out of a Silver Sentinel before water flow starts to drop and it's time for a fresh one. If you have heavy use (daily soaks, multiple bathers), expect a slightly shorter run — maybe 8-10 weeks.

Quick tips:

  • If your spa has been losing water flow over the past few weeks, the filter is the first thing to check before calling for service
  • Silver Sentinel is recyclable in most municipal blue-bin programs — check your local guidelines
  • Pre-2009 Arctic Spa parts can be harder to source — order a spare or two when you place your order so you're not caught short next quarter
