The Cabinet Mount Cover Lifter is a no-frills cabinet-mounted cover lifter for Arctic Spas and most freestanding hot tubs. It bolts to the spa cabinet on each side, gives you a pivot to fold and rock the cover behind the spa, and asks nothing in return — no hydraulic cylinders to wear out, no springs to maintain, no batteries to charge.

Why this is the basic option: Compared to the Hydraulic Assist Cover Lifter, you don't get any lift assistance — you're carrying the full cover weight yourself through the lift arc. That's fine for smaller covers (under 7' spans) and for owners who just want a place to fold and stash the cover instead of lifting it on and off the spa edge each use. It's not the right call for larger 8'+ insulated covers, which are heavy enough that the unassisted lift becomes a daily annoyance.

Will this fit my spa? Yes, if you have a freestanding Arctic Spa with a traditional cabinet (room beside the spa for the lifter brackets to mount). It needs the same rear clearance as any cabinet-mounted lifter — about 6-8" — for the cover to rock back into position. For built-in spas without exposed cabinet sides, look at the Cover Lifter Cabinet Free Rest instead.

When to upgrade to hydraulic: If your spa is 7' or larger, your cover is more than two years old (which means it's holding more moisture and is significantly heavier than when it was new), or anyone in your household has back, shoulder, or grip-strength limitations — go straight to the Hydraulic Assist Cover Lifter. The price difference pays back in cover life and daily ease.

Quick tips:

  • Install with two people — easier alignment, less chance of stripped screws
  • Pre-drill any new mounting holes in the cabinet to avoid splitting cedar or cracking synthetic panels
  • If your existing lifter brackets are still solid but the lifter itself is shot, sometimes you can re-use the brackets and just swap the arms — bring it in to one of our three Ontario showrooms for a quick check
