The 3HP Aquaflo XP2e 2-Speed Pump is a replacement main jet pump for Arctic Spas. It's a two-speed motor with the Aquaflo XP2e wetend — the standard pump configuration on most current and recent Arctic Spas, paired with the spa's onboard controller for low-speed circulation and high-speed jet performance.
When you'll need a new pump: Spa pumps typically last 5-7 years of daily residential use before the bearings, seal, or motor windings fail. Symptoms include grinding or whining sounds during operation, water dripping from the pump shaft seal, the pump tripping the GFCI repeatedly, or the pump simply not starting on either speed. If you've replaced a fuse and it blew again immediately, the pump is the underlying problem — the fuse just gave up first.
Will this fit my spa? Yes, on most current and recent-vintage Arctic Spas using the Aquaflo XP2e pump platform. The factory part number printed on the original pump is the most reliable confirmation — if you have an Aquaflo XP2e label, this is the right replacement. If you have a single-speed Aquaflo or a different brand entirely, you'll need a different replacement — see the 4HP LX 1-Speed (Aquaflo Replacement).
Important: Pump installation involves 240V wiring and plumbing under load. Most spa owners book a service tech rather than doing it themselves. If you're an experienced electrical DIYer, drain the spa below the pump first, replace the union gaskets at the same time (2" Pump Union O-ring), and confirm the GFCI holds before declaring the job done.
Quick tips:
- If your old pump shorted out, also inspect the motherboard's pump relay — sometimes the bad pump cooks the relay before the fuse blows
- Take a photo of the pump wiring before disconnecting anything
